  “Tell you what?”

  “Tell me that you’ll be in my bed every night from now on.”

  I curl into him as he pulls me against him. “If that’s what you want, I’ll be in your bed every night from now on.”

  He climbs over top of me. “That’s what I want. More than anything.”

  I open my legs to make room for him, and his hands grip my waist. “I don’t want to hurt you.”

  I plant my feet on the bed and lift my hips. His penis is still erect, hard and seeping a drop of moisture from its tip. I should be scared because I know in fact he could hurt me, but I want this. I want it more than anything.

  “You won’t hurt me. Please, I need you.”

  He leans down and kisses me, and it’s just as explosive as our first kiss. He takes his time, exploring my mouth, his tongue making me crazy.

  It’s then I feel him, his hardness pressing into me, and I freeze underneath him. “It’s okay. I’ll go slow.”

  I nod my head, and he raises up, looking at where our bodies are joined. He grabs my hand. “Look at us. We’re one, Jane.”

  He flexes his hips and moves into me in one swift motion. I groan. The pain is swift and fierce, but just as quickly as it came, it goes away.   “Come in me, Dutton. I want your baby,” I say and then I clench my eyes in shock, not believing that I just said that out loud.

  He stops moving, and his hands come around my neck. “Look at me.” He’s as still as concrete. Unmoving.

  “Look at me,” he says again.

  I open my eyes, and his blue eyes are so dark as he stares back at me. “Say it again.”

  I swallow deeply. “Come in me, Dutton.”

  “All of it,” he commands.

  I touch his hands at my throat and try to hold on to him. “Come in me, Dutton. I want your baby.”

  “Yes.” His body trembles against mine. His one hand slides between my legs, and he starts to torment my clit while his other hand massages my breast. “I’m going to fill you up, Jane. You’re going to have my babies. Be my wife. Be mine forever.”

  “Yes.” I groan as another orgasm wracks through my body.

  He’s grunting, moving in and out until he finally finds his release, doing exactly what he said he would. He fills me up.

  She passed out. I’ve had her twice tonight, and she’s out now like a light. I have her in my arms, in my bed, and I’m not letting her go. If I was less of a man, I’d roll her over and take her from behind because I know how sore she is. But I’ll save that for another day.

  I lift up in the bed and she startles next to me. “Where are you going?”

  I reach for the covers and pull them over us and then snuggle back against her.

  “Just covering up. I’m not going anywhere.”

  She moves next to me and groans.

  “You okay?”

  “I’m sore. But I’m good.”

  I reach down between us and cup her sex. I’ve already cleaned her and myself up. But I can’t get enough of her. I’m her first, and I’ll be her last. I’m her man, her future husband, her future baby daddy. If I didn’t give her a baby tonight, I will soon. It’s now my life’s mission to make all her dreams come true.

  “I’m sorry I hurt you. I promise after you have rested and aren’t sore, I’ll make it up to you.”

  I feel her smile into my chest. “I’m going to hold you to that.”

  “With pleasure. I mean, you are going to be my wife. I’ll have plenty of time.”

  She lifts her head, and her dark brown eyes are looking at me curiously. “You still want to marry me?”

  “Jane, you’ll be my wife. I love you. For now and always.”

  She leans over and kisses me. “I love you too.”

  Four Weeks Later

  Valentines Day

  “What is it?” I ask for the hundredth time it seems like.

  “It’s a surprise. I’m not telling you.”

  “Dutton, you shouldn’t have gotten me anything. You’ve already given me everything I’ve ever wanted.”

  “Not yet I haven’t,” he says almost wistfully as he reaches over and rubs his hand over my stomach.

  I cover his hand with my own. “I told you. It’s too soon to know if I’m pregnant, but I’m sure it will happen.”

  “I’m not rushing it. When it happens, it happens. I’m just happy to be working on it right now, if you know what I mean.”

  Dutton wiggles his eyebrows up and down suggestively. Oh, I know exactly what he’s talking about. He’s gone out of his way to do everything he can to make sure I get pregnant soon. It’s like he can’t stand to have me out of sight, still coming to work and sitting for hours just to be near me. He works his schedule around mine so he can take me to work and pick me up. He’s been everything I didn’t know I needed. But somehow, it seems, he knows exactly what I need.

  He pulls into his shop, and I take notice of the large fourplex apartment unit that looks to just about be finished. He started on it around the same time as his shop, but it seems like it’s taken a bit more time to finish. “What are we doing here? Is this part of my surprise?”

  He just shakes his head. I guess he’s discovered that he shouldn’t mention a surprise to me because I’ll drive him crazy trying to find out what it is.

  He comes around to the truck and helps me out, holding my hand as we walk across the gravel lot. I pull him to a stop. “Dutton, you don’t have to keep buying me things. You got me this ring, all the flowers earlier today, everything. I just need you. That’s all I want.”

  He stops and puts both hands on my cheek. “You have me. You’ll always have me. But how about this? I give you your Valentine’s present, we go to dinner and then when we get home, I get my present.”

  “You don’t even know what I got you.”

  “You, honey. You’re my present. And I can’t wait to unwrap you,” he says right before he dips his head for a kiss. And with Dutton, it’s never just one kiss. He takes his sweet time exploring my mouth. I get lost in the kiss until I hear someone clear their throat. “Okay, break it up. I don’t need to see all that.”

  I pull away and look at the man behind the voice. “Sam! What are you doing here?”

  He looks at Dutton. “You didn’t tell her?”

  Dutton shakes his head.

  Sam blushes. “Well, Dutton gave me a job.”

  Dutton interrupts. “I didn’t give you anything, old man. You’ve earned it.”

  Sam’s chest seems to bow out at that. “Yeah, so I’m working in the shop and Dutton offered me an apartment in one of the fourplex units in exchange for doing maintenance and upkeep around the apartments.”

  “Oh Sam, that’s amazing. I’m so happy for you.”

  He looks embarrassed, but he proudly asks me, “You want to come and check out my apartment?”

  “I do. I’d love to. But first I need to do something in Dutton’s office and then we’ll be right over.”

  Sam nods his head. “Okay, see you over there.” He walks out of the bay toward the apartments.

  I grab Dutton’s hand, pulling him through the warehouse, past all his workers, and I don’t stop until we’re alone in his office with the door shut. “Was that my Valentine’s Day gift? Did you do that for me?” I ask in awe, my hands over my mouth.

  He wraps his arms around me. “Yes, honey. That’s what you told me you wanted on our first date. Don’t you know I’ll give you anything you want? Anything at all.”

  “That is…” I sob and take a deep breath to try to calm myself. “Dutton, that is the absolute best present anyone has ever given me. I can’t believe you did that.”

  “Sweetheart, I bought this land the first day I met you because I knew I had to get close to you. I love you.”

  I grab the front of his shirt. “Okay, so I want to give you your present. Now.”

  He reaches behind him and locks the door to his office and then smiles broadly at me. “I’ll take it.”

  I shake my head. “No, that’s not it. I mean that can be part of it, but I got you a real present. One I know you’re going to want.”

  He’s kissing me already, and his beard scraping the sensitive skin of my neck has my body trembling. He doesn’t stop, so I put my hands on his face. “Dutton, you want your real gift?”

  He shakes his head and tries to kiss me again. “I can wait.”

  I duck my head. “I’m pregnant. You’re going to be a daddy. I have a trucker’s hat that says Daddy on it wrapped up at home, but I figure you gave me a good present, I didn’t want you to have to wait.”

  He’s staring back at me, his mouth wide open, no doubt in shock. “A baby. We’re having a baby?”

  So overcome with emotion because I can see how happy he is, I just shake my head.

  He clenches his eyes shut and opens them, a fresh tear falling. “We’re having a baby.”

  I take my thumb and wipe away the moisture from his cheek. “Good present?”

  He lifts me up and sets me atop his desk. “The best. The very best. I know I don’t deserve you, Jane. But I’m going to be the best husband to you and the best daddy to all our
kids. Thank you. You’ve given me everything I can ever want.”

  I kiss him and lean in to whisper, “Now, about the second part of my present?”

  “But the baby?” he asks, running his hand across my stomach.

  “It’s safe. You’d never hurt us.”

  He nods and then continues to make the sweetest love to me.
